Saturday Slowdown

2009
01.31

Yep I have a theme for Saturday too. HAHA.

Today is the day that I usually get to kick back and really do nothing, but not today. Operation GET CRUNK kicks off in just a couple of hours and it is going to be insanely busy. We have been talking all kinds of crap about this trying to keep people guessing. Creating BUZZ is what it is all about. Speaking of BUZZ check out my dear friend April Wallace’s magazine, Bartow Buzz. We are truely blessed to have friends like the Wallace’s. They are wonderful people. Even if she is from Alabama… haha.

Okay now to my thoughts today.
We all need to take the time and SLOW DOWN. In the fast pace life that we lead we do not take the time to listen. If we slow down we can hear what God is telling us, we can hear what our spouse is telling us, we can hear what our children are telling us, and what our bodies are telling us. If our lives are wide open all the time with no quite down time, we will not hear what God wants us to do with our life. He will not always speak to us in thunderous tones, but may have been whispering to us for a while and we are just too busy to have heard him. What has God been trying to tell you? Can you honestly say that you have taken the time to spend with Him in His word? It is sad to say but I will admit that I do not spend time with God like a should. Sometimes I will spend the late hours of the night to read my Bible or pray. Kind of making God an after thought. When what I should be doing is waking up FIRST THING in the morning and grabbing my Bible and spending time with God before I do anything else, putting Him FIRST.

When do you give God your time?

Friday Findings

2009
01.31

Well here it is late Friday night and I had to find the theme for Friday and decided on Friday Findings. I haven’t decided exactly what I want to put here, but the hard part was coming up with the theme. You may find something tech related, church related, social related, political, or just down right funny ! Since it is past midnight, I will officially begin this theme next week, so be on the lookout!

Thursday’s Thoughts

2009
01.30

So I am trying to come up with little sayings for each day, but I don’t know it I will be able to continue it.
We had an awesome discussion at our Journey Group tonight that is slapping me in the face. Do we do things to get approval from society or do we do things to please God. Think about that for a minute.

Okay times up! I know I have been guilty of the society thing but have been working really hard to discipline myself to only worry about what God thinks. I can honestly say the EVERYTHING I do for Oak Leaf Church is all about God. I know that some people want to hear “good job” or “thanks” but when the experience is over on Sunday, I know that God is proud of what we have done. It is not about any of us, it is only for God. I have been so fortunate to be a part of something that is amazing and I know that when I stand before God that he will recognize all the effort that I put in on a weekly basis trying to help get people from where they are to where He wants them to be !
That is my thought for today, have a great one and may God bless.

Wednesday Wrap Up

2009
01.28

Today was a really good day. I got some personal business taken care of that I had put off. Then I went down to the HOR and unloaded some staging, and the awesome Brad Nash helped me do some lighting trouble shooting for this Sunday. We went to try out Dilly Dogs that everyone keeps raving about. Not bad for a cheap hotdog. Now for the BEST part….. FUEL!!!!!!! As some of you know, Fuel is our student ministry and this week was the first week of doing it RAVE style. We don’t tell the kids where we are meeting, they have to check out the website or get a text message with the location. We had a record number of students show up, and several accepted Jesus into their lives. Not only did they raise their hands saying they prayed to receive Christ, they stood up in front of their PEERS to let it be known……. IT WAS AMAZING !!!! So, that is it, Wednesday in a nutshell.

Operation GET CRUNK

2009
01.27

So tonight we started phase 1 of Operation GET CRUNK. We code named it Operation Rubber Ducky ! We only wasted an hour trying to get the ducks to wake up, thinking one of them had a dead battery. Several unanswered phone calls later, Gerard finally told me about a SECRET to waking them up. After that, we were on our way to the watering hole for a little H2O. The duckies are squeaking again now so we are ready for Phase 2, which will be the final phase of this operation. I can’t wait for the unveiling of this MASTER PLAN, you must come to OLC to experience it !

Something Cool

2009
01.27

Okay, I can’t really say too much about something that is happening with OLC this weekend but let me tell you that it is gonna be RAD (at least I hope). With the help of some fellow leafers (that shall remain nameless) we are activating what is to be called “Operation GET CRUNK”. I am so stoked about this, I can hardly contain myself. Be on the lookout for something RAD at the Leaf this weekend………..
