Monday’s Thoughts

Sunday was a blast, but I am starting to get over the 80′s theme.  We gave out lighters on 4-20. (and we wonder why people talk about us Leafers all the time)  We had our first Launch Team meeting last night, and it was exciting talking about the vision of this campus.  I am so excited about what God is about to do through Oak Leaf for Cartersville !  I am pumped that Michael announced Jonathan Sutton as our Family Pastor for Oak Leaf, he and his wife are awesome people and he will do great things in this position.  Be sure to give him congrats, the only major flaw he has is being an Auburn Fan……(guess we can’t all be Dawgs)

Mom

I am on my way to see my mom this morning.  I can’t wait, it has been a while and I miss her so much.  You never know how much you love someone until you don’t get to see them all of the time.  Hopefully I will have some information that I have been waiting for after today.  I am so ready for there to be some type of continuity in my life.  I just keep praying and having faith that God will continue to guide her life and the life of the entire family.

Thursday’s Thoughts

I met with Will Goodwin this morning at Chic-fil-a for a breakfast burrito (mmmm tasty). We had some really good conversation and it was fun to get to hang out and talk, since we just kind of hit the highlights of a conversation on Sunday morning since we are non-stop.

Now on to my sign from God (at least that is what I am saying it is).  For the past 3 years, we have had a couple of red tulips that bloom in the middle of the nature spot in our front yard.  This past week, just as always, the tulips began to grow and prepared to bloom. This year they are all WHITE!!!  Not only have they changed colors this year, they are also 7 of them bunched together.  I am not really into what things mean but I wanted to dig a little deeper and see what I could find, with everything that has been going on in my life lately.  Everything I could find says that White is the sign on forgiveness, and 7 is the number of completion.  So I continue to pray that everything will soon be over and we can continue to rebuild our lives.

I love my mom more than anything, and she knows it.  I do not condone anything that has happened, but she is my mother and my love is unconditional and forever.

I LOVE YOU MOMMA, even though I know you are not reading this where you are at.

Thinking out loud, in writing….

Today was a pretty good day overall.  Work went well and the weather turned out to be wonderful.  I got home early, just like every Wednesday, had Amanda sit on the front porch and talk to me while I trimmed the hedges.  My aunt came by to visit and we all just had a good time sitting and talking about things in general.  I am meeting Will for breakfast at Chick fil a  in the morning, it will be nice to just chat and not have to worry about getting things set up for a change.  I love picking his brain and I have some things I want to talk with him about too.  I got the notes from Michael today about this weeks service, man God really put some stuff on his heart, it is a week that EVERYONE that attends Oak Leaf Church NEEDS to hear and I am not even joking around.

Tritt is sick this week and is going to the Dr. tomorrow, man I hate it when the kids are sick….

TV has to be the biggest waste of money and energy there is.  There are no good programs on anymore.

I did get a haircut today, so I am looking less like the shaggy DA.

Who knew there was so much of a process to making a can of kernel corn.  I have been watching How It’s Made and various shows like that all night.

The blog world has been kind of quite today, not too many updates on the blogs that I read on a regular basis.

Oh well, I guess it’s time to get some sleep.  Later !

Time to play catch up

Man, it has been a while since I updated, so I apologize in advance for the randomness of this post.

Sunday @ OLC was a sad day as one of my friends is leaving the church, but happy in the respect that he is going to spread his wisdom with others.  Tim, you will be missed but our friendship lives on and nothing will change.

We had the first ever Church @ a Bar service on Sunday night.  Man it was awesome.  I did some training on running sound and I had a blast learning new stuff.  The atmosphere was great and I think it went pretty well considering we are learning something new again.  I know that we could have done somethings better so we will make the changes for the next time.  The band was really good and the people seemed to really enjoy the style of worship music we play.  I couldn’t resist, at the end of the service when people were just going to hang out and meet each other, I cued up Sweet Home Alabama on the iPod and had it cranking thru the speakers.  It was accepted with the random cheers from the people hanging out. :)

I still haven’t found my iPod !!!   :(

Work has started out really slow, and today seemed to go on FOREVER !!

Saturday, we had the opportunity to hang out with April and Kevin (friends and owners of The Bartow Buzz Magazine) at the Atlanta Steeplechase.  Man that was some fun times right there.  It was fun to watch all the people, see folks that I haven’t seen in a while, and just have some really good fellowship time with friends.  I hope we get to go back again next year.

We have our first Launch Team meeting coming up this Sunday night for the theater campus.  I am so excited about this adventure that Oak Leaf Church is embarking on.  God is doing some crazy things in our lives.  Like I told Michael in an email, let’s just take the bull by the horns and hold on for one heckuva ride!

Sunday Night Mind Dump (and Rant)

2008
04.06

Well, I really don’t know what to say about today except it felt like a struggle all day.  Things were not up to par with my part of the service today, I felt like I had to struggle through everything.  The camera feed to the hard drive got unplugged so the service didn’t get recorded, I went to sleep after I got home and didn’t make it to LimeLight to do training on the sound system.  I don’t really feel good either, I have been sick at my stomach all evening.  So I am just going to chalk today up as an experience and go from there.

I still can’t get anyone to give me any information on the location of my iPod….. that just makes me upset.

I am still struggling with not being able to sleep….that may be why I don’t feel good.

I am going to be shutting off the iPhone for a while and getting something cheap (plan wise) till I can get back on my feet a little better.

I need to take the deck off my lawn mower and remove the “dog leash” from the blade pulley. (AHHHHHHH !)

It seems like every step I take something happens to knock me back a few steps….. So I will just continue to pray for God to give me the strength to keep pushing forward.

Okay that is all of the  ranting I am going to do today.
