Random Thoughts

Well, we took a weekend off with the kids and my mom and stepdad.  We had a really good time, we were planning on Savannah but decided that we didn’t want to drive that far so we went to Helen.  I really enjoy going to Helen to relax and just hang out.  The trip home was one like we have never had before, most of the time it is silent but this time we talked about how we all wondered what church was like today.  This is different for our family and I am excited that Church has made that type of impact on my family.  I thank God everyday for sending Michael to Cartersville to start Oak Leaf Church.  We missed everyone and can’t wait to see you all this Sunday.

I thought it was time to write about my feelings on my fellow Leafers.  Several years ago we attended church on a regular basis, but once we moved back to Cartersville we just couldn’t find a church that we felt a part of.  Amanda saw the road signs for Oak Leaf and we went online to watch the 2nd preview service.  We really liked what we saw and decided to attend, we actually missed the  ”Grand Opening” service but did make the second service.  We felt right at home and liked the fact that we were not told one time that we were all going to hell.  Everyone was extremely nice and sincere.  We couldn’t stop talking about the church all week and never hesitated to attend the following week.  After several weeks, we attended the Newcomers dinner to learn more about the vision and beliefs of the church.  We bought into the vision of what God was doing through this church and have been there ever since.  I love helping out with the cd’s and have expanded my volunteer position into running video on Sunday mornings.  We look forward to getting to the church early on Sunday’s anxious to see what God has in store for Cartersville that day.

I know this is a ramble post but only God knows how much this church family means to us.  I have come to know so many new people through Oak Leaf and I look forward to meeting many many more.

Well today was just totally awesome.  It was the first day that we did three services at the theater.  Things went really well with the exception of a few computer glitches in the first service.  The second and third went really smooth.  Turn out was awesome for all three, I was kind of worried but man did things turn out well.  I can’t wait till Anthony gets the total numbers tabulated so we can know just how many people were really there.
