Sunday Sunday Sunday

Man all I can say is that church was off the hook today. I love what God is doing in Cartersville through Oak Leaf Church. Michael’s message was so on point today and I think it hit home with a lot of people. Every one of us have been judged by others but yet we still judge people ourselves. I really hope that people will continue to listen to what God says and we try to live more like Him.

Getting excited about our trip to PCB coming up in a couple of weeks !!

Found out today that Brad has ordered some of our equipment for the HOR that REALLY makes me happy, because that means we are closer to getting in the building that God intended for us to be in.

Well, if you were not at Oak Leaf today then you missed one AWESOME Sunday. Both bands were rocking and the sermon was OFF THE CHAIN. I am sure that it pissed some people off and some may not come back, but if that is the case then they didn’t need to be there anyway. Michael really brought it today and was some type of FIRED UP ! You can watch it online at http://www.vimeo/olc as well as all the sermons. I have to get off here and get busy rendering the video so I can put it online now that I told you to watch it. haha

Hope you have a God Day !

What a Day !

Today was another GREAT day @ The Leaf.  4 services were a little crazy and Michael really brought God’s message to the table today about the Return of The King!  Keelan’s father-inlaw agreed to let us use his truck on Sunday mornings to pull a trailer, so we packed all the stuff that we can set up early on an empty trailer to give ourselves a little head start on Sunday!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

Spent some time chillin on the couch this afternoon while some video was compressing to upload to OLC’s Vimeo Site.

Spent the evening at the Tellus Museum for the OLC Leadership Summit.  It was in the planeterium which was amazing, looking at the stars while Matt,Daniel, and Joel did an accoustic set.  The evening was topped off by my GREAT friend Will Goodwin singing the closing song.  It was so emotional that I had tears running down my face.  I love that guy and his wonderful wife.

So to sum it up, today was a GOD day, awesome !

Been a While

I want to start by saying that I am sorry for not updating this in FOREVER !!

Things have been REALLY busy with life, work, and Oak Leaf.  I want to take a couple of minutes and talk about how AWESOME my God is.  I have been given some opportunities to serve this past week and it has been great.  I spent last weekend helping to redeem a building for God, and this weekend I was given the chance to be a part of The School of Worship with Will Goodwin.  It was an awesome site to behold with so many kids engaged in worshiping God, I had tears running down my face just thinking about them being the FUTURE of his kingdom.  My prayer is that they will not stray and push through the struggles that they face being a teenager in this day and time.  Today started out pretty rough, we were at the theater early, but things just seemed to take SO LONG, and we had all types of problems technically.  I have to admit that I just had to walk away and take a minute with God to reaffirm what I was doing and not give up. Things got finished up right as people were walking into the theater.  I spent the entire first service praying that God would continue to do great things in Cartersville through Oak Leaf Church.  The second service went a little smoother and had quite a few more people in it than the first one. Now here is where God showed up……… we started letting people in and just like the prior service, we stopped letting people in when the first song started to allow the room to be completely dark. I was stoked because all the seats were filled at that point and couldn’t tell that anyone was outside waiting.  First song was over and the doors were reopened…..people were coming into the theater in groves, we ran out of the plastic chairs that were brought in and had people sitting on the steps and standing all along the walls.  It tore me up BIG TIME, I couldn’t help it. I was crying like a little baby.  I know that God was showing me first hand why we do what we do even when things look like they are going so crappy.  He is the reason we are there, He is the reason we get up at 4am on Sunday, He is the reason we stay and sweat after everyone else has left, HE IS THE REASON !!!

Thank you God for all that you do and for loving us when we don’t deserve it.

The official count for this Sunday was 912 people.  The largest non-Easter attendence at Oak Leaf Church.  You can read more about this on Michael’s Blog here.

Monday’s Thoughts

Sunday was a blast, but I am starting to get over the 80′s theme.  We gave out lighters on 4-20. (and we wonder why people talk about us Leafers all the time)  We had our first Launch Team meeting last night, and it was exciting talking about the vision of this campus.  I am so excited about what God is about to do through Oak Leaf for Cartersville !  I am pumped that Michael announced Jonathan Sutton as our Family Pastor for Oak Leaf, he and his wife are awesome people and he will do great things in this position.  Be sure to give him congrats, the only major flaw he has is being an Auburn Fan……(guess we can’t all be Dawgs)

Time to play catch up

Man, it has been a while since I updated, so I apologize in advance for the randomness of this post.

Sunday @ OLC was a sad day as one of my friends is leaving the church, but happy in the respect that he is going to spread his wisdom with others.  Tim, you will be missed but our friendship lives on and nothing will change.

We had the first ever Church @ a Bar service on Sunday night.  Man it was awesome.  I did some training on running sound and I had a blast learning new stuff.  The atmosphere was great and I think it went pretty well considering we are learning something new again.  I know that we could have done somethings better so we will make the changes for the next time.  The band was really good and the people seemed to really enjoy the style of worship music we play.  I couldn’t resist, at the end of the service when people were just going to hang out and meet each other, I cued up Sweet Home Alabama on the iPod and had it cranking thru the speakers.  It was accepted with the random cheers from the people hanging out. :)

I still haven’t found my iPod !!!   :(

Work has started out really slow, and today seemed to go on FOREVER !!

Saturday, we had the opportunity to hang out with April and Kevin (friends and owners of The Bartow Buzz Magazine) at the Atlanta Steeplechase.  Man that was some fun times right there.  It was fun to watch all the people, see folks that I haven’t seen in a while, and just have some really good fellowship time with friends.  I hope we get to go back again next year.

We have our first Launch Team meeting coming up this Sunday night for the theater campus.  I am so excited about this adventure that Oak Leaf Church is embarking on.  God is doing some crazy things in our lives.  Like I told Michael in an email, let’s just take the bull by the horns and hold on for one heckuva ride!
