Man, it has been a while since I updated, so I apologize in advance for the randomness of this post.
Sunday @ OLC was a sad day as one of my friends is leaving the church, but happy in the respect that he is going to spread his wisdom with others. Tim, you will be missed but our friendship lives on and nothing will change.
We had the first ever Church @ a Bar service on Sunday night. Man it was awesome. I did some training on running sound and I had a blast learning new stuff. The atmosphere was great and I think it went pretty well considering we are learning something new again. I know that we could have done somethings better so we will make the changes for the next time. The band was really good and the people seemed to really enjoy the style of worship music we play. I couldn’t resist, at the end of the service when people were just going to hang out and meet each other, I cued up Sweet Home Alabama on the iPod and had it cranking thru the speakers. It was accepted with the random cheers from the people hanging out.
I still haven’t found my iPod !!!
Work has started out really slow, and today seemed to go on FOREVER !!
Saturday, we had the opportunity to hang out with April and Kevin (friends and owners of The Bartow Buzz Magazine) at the Atlanta Steeplechase. Man that was some fun times right there. It was fun to watch all the people, see folks that I haven’t seen in a while, and just have some really good fellowship time with friends. I hope we get to go back again next year.
We have our first Launch Team meeting coming up this Sunday night for the theater campus. I am so excited about this adventure that Oak Leaf Church is embarking on. God is doing some crazy things in our lives. Like I told Michael in an email, let’s just take the bull by the horns and hold on for one heckuva ride!
